To be eligible, candidates must have completed Grade 12 and participated in a “Management Skills for Supervisors” training program, or an equivalent leadership program. A minimum of five years of experience directly related to street operations is required, along with experience in budget preparation, project coordination, and planning activities. Additionally, candidates should have at least four years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment. Applicants should possess considerable knowledge of the theories, practices, methods, equipment, and tools used in street operations, as well as skills in the care and utilization of the relevant equipment and tools. The ability to lead, train, supervise, and evaluate staff is essential. The successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check for offences related to the position. A valid, full privilege Class 5 BC driver’s license (or out of province equivalent) is also required.
