Key responsibilities include:
- Programming and maintaining SCADA, PLC, and HMI systems
- Troubleshooting and emergency response for control system failures
- Designing, repairing, and calibrating telemetry and instrumentation
- Collaborating with internal teams and external contractors on Capital Projects
- Managing backups, change logs, and control system documentation
- Supporting cybersecurity, performance optimization, and regulatory compliance
- Participating in after-hours system support when required
The ideal candidate holds post-secondary education in automation, instrumentation, or industrial controls and five years or more of experience with SCADA, PLCs, and automated systems. They have familiarity with platforms like Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Ignition, or Wonderware and a strong problem-solving mindset and collaborative approach. Water/wastewater certifications and First Aid/CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain) are considered assets. A valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license with a clear driver’s abstract is required upon hire.
