The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:

Bachelor’s Degree in Land Use Planning, Planning & Development, Urban Design, Environmental Science, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Geography, or a related discipline.

Master’s Degree in Planning or a related field is considered an asset.

Five (5) to Seven (7) years of related planning experience with some supervisory experience.

Strong working knowledge of land use planning practices and the ability to analyze and evaluate complex challenges to form effective decisions.

Excellent writing, presentation, negotiation, organization, and time management skills with the ability to work within tight timelines with an often steady, heavy workload.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with groups with different expertise, external groups, senior management, the public and Council.

Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.
The total rewards package for this position includes:
A starting annual salary of $109,500 to $118,500, with a maximum earning potential for this pay range of $138,500, based on a 35-hour work week and option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
