The Engineering Department’s Municipal Facilities Division is seeking a collaborative and highly organized professional to support the planning, implementation and delivery of municipal facility capital projects. The division is responsible for the stewardship of a diverse portfolio of civic buildings, leading major facility improvements, and supporting long-term asset management strategies. The Senior Project Lead is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of facility capital projects across the District. This includes initiating, managing, and closing projects of varying scale and complexity, from feasibility and design to construction and turnover. Working closely with internal departments, consultants, and contractors, the Senior Project Lead will ensure that scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations are consistently met. The role provides technical and functional guidance to other project staff, supports asset management planning, prepares reports for senior leadership, and helps drive continuous improvement in project delivery.
Requirements include a diploma in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution, along with six years of directly related experience in project management for civic building improvement projects, including full lifecycle delivery of capital construction projects. Candidates must be registered as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam and AutoCAD. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred, or candidates must demonstrate proficiency to pursue certification. Experience working within an Owner’s organization and with CCDC contracts is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Employment is subject to provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check no older than six months.
