JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager of Tax & Cash Management, the Tax Certificates Clerk is responsible for:
- Processing all requests relating to the status of property taxes according to the Municipal Act,
- Answering inquiries pertaining to property taxes and property assessment
- Updating property tax master files, maintaining agent accounts for billing purposes
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide detailed responses, verbal and written with respect to all aspects of municipal property taxation as requested by ratepayers, citizens, municipal staff and other interested parties
- Responsible for ensuring all account receivable invoices are added to the correct tax account as per legislation.
- Maintain / update files related to subdivision maps and address files for lawyers, developers and financial institutions
- Maintain / update files related to tax accounts paid by mortgage companies. Issues invoices to mortgage companies within a stringent timeline
- Assist in processing consolidations and severances on TXM

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Completion of a high school diploma, or equivalent
- Two years of related experience in municipal property tax
- Strong organizational skills required, as well as ability to meet deadlines in order to manage high volume of information from various sources
- Strong attention to detail and to accuracy
- Well-developed computer skills
- Ability to deal effectively with the public
- Completion of the Municipal Tax Administrative Program is preferred

Salary Range: $63,022.00 To $70,348.00 Annually
