These positions involve performing a variety of manual tasks that require physical effort and agility. Responsibilities include clearing leaves and debris from streets, yards, and trails, as well as acting as a signal person for truck drivers and equipment operators. Labourers may also be involved in raking, loading, and hauling organic waste and other general public works duties.
Requirements include completion of Grade 10 or equivalent, one month of previous experience and on-the-job training, a valid Traffic Control Certificate, and a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The role requires sufficient physical strength and stamina to carry out heavy manual work safely and effectively.
The successful candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and following all safety protocols and will work Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., October 24, 2025 – January 2026.
