Description
The Town of Stony Plain has a temporary, full-time position available for a Municipal Enforcement Clerk in the Community and Protective Services department.  Reporting to the Community Peace Officer (CPO) Supervisor, this position provides administrative services to the CPO’s, including the coordination of all enforcement-related inquires by creating case reports, triaging, recording and dispatching files to officers on duty.  This includes the compilation of legal documents, court briefs and attendance in court as bylaw prosecution when required. The position gathers statistics and provides key support in the preparation of enforcement reports, records management and office administration.

The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in office administration, legal studies, or a related field, combined with a minimum of two (2) years of experience. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. The incumbent will demonstrate a professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to handle various complaints and emergency situations with a high level of professionalism, tact, and diplomacy. General knowledge and understanding of municipal bylaws, court system, and legal documentation standards will aid in the success of the incumbent in this role.  Please see the job description attached for more details.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Minimum grade 12 diploma. 
  • Post-secondary certificate in policing, legal studies, paralegal, office administration, or related field.
  • Minimum two years of office administration experience, preferably within a municipal setting.

Based on a 35-hour work week, the salary range for this position is $61,898 - $78,752 per annum as well as the option to participate in the Town’s benefit package.
