Are you passionate about skateboarding, working with kids, and spending your summer outdoors? Join our energetic and creative team running Skateboard and Scooter Camps for children and youth. As a Program Assistant, you will support the daily operations of the camps by helping set up activities, monitoring safety at the Gordon Head Skate Park, and fostering a fun and inclusive environment for participants. You will work closely with Program Leaders, engage with children and youth in recreational activities, support their skill development, and communicate with parents and other staff to ensure a positive camp experience for everyone.
To be successful in this role, you will have completed at least Grade 10 and possess a minimum of three months’ experience working with children in a recreational, instructional, or camp setting. You must hold current Emergency First Aid and CPR-C certification and be able to provide a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance. Experience with skateboarding or scootering is highly desirable, along with a strong understanding of skate park safety practices. Additional experience supporting children with behavioral or cognitive challenges is considered an asset.
This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $20.44 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits.
