- Diagnose electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment problems to determine repairs and parts required to minimize equipment downtime.
- Complete Alberta Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVIP).
- Perform service calls to work site locations, with varying temperature and weather conditions.
- Perform safety and maintenance checks on workshop equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and training on operator maintenance to equipment operators.
- Ensure all required inventory, inspection and repair paperwork is accurately completed in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergency situations any time when required and perform safety responsibilities in conjunction with the County Safety Program.
- Always adhere to all pertinent safety laws, legislation, policies, operating procedures and industry guidelines.
- Participate in the Emergency On-Call program.
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Journeyman Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic with 3 years related experience.
- Experience with computerized diagnostic equipment.
- CVIP Certification would be considered an asset.
- Valid Class 3 AB Drivers Licence would be considered an asset.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills with ability to demonstrate initiative, build positive relationships and strong partnerships with team members and customers (internal and external).
