Description
Reporting to the Public Works Assistant Manager and the Labour Crew/Gravel Foreman, the Equipment Operator is responsible to assist the Public Works department and is responsible for the operation of assigned equipment for the maintenance of County Infrastructure, Right of Ways, Hamlets and Bridge File Projects. The Equipment Operator will also be required to accurately document and record safety processes, work and inspections undertaken using the County’s electronic format. Equipment Operator Classification will be dependent on qualifications.
Requirements
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s licence with an acceptable driver’s abstract
- A clean criminal record.
- Physical capability to perform heavy manual tasks.
- Available to work non-regular hours, if required.
- Working knowledge of computers and smartphone applications.
- Knowledge of Camrose County
- Experience operating and maintaining the following pieces of equipment will be advantageous. The number of pieces on which a candidate is deemed competent will determine the Equipment Operator Classification:
- Dozer/Crawler
- Backhoe
- Mini hoe/Track hoe
- Large Wheel Loader (over 150 horsepower)
- Skid Steer
- Hydrovac
- Snow Plow Truck and Sander – Tandem Axle
- Picker Truck/Crane
- Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs)
- Self-Propelled Brush Mulcher
