Description
As a Field Training Coordinator you will play an important role in developing, maintaining and organizing the delivery of technical, practical (hands-on) training to support skill development across a wide range of positions within the field operations. You will coordinate operations-specific training related to process improvements, procedure updates, and the implementation of new technologies. You will also work closely with learning & development and technical documentation specialists across the business unit and corporation to ensure the integration of informal and on-the-job training with new and existing formal training programs. As a Field Training Coordinator, you will also work directly with subject matter experts and operational leadership to develop appropriate content for field and on-the-job training and skills evaluation. Primary duties include: • Develop process and tools to coordinate and bring consistency to practical, field, and on-the-job training across the field operation. • Support implementation and sustainment of operational programs by coordinating field appropriate training and/ or information sessions to support updates and changes. • Support onboarding and field training experiences, including coaching peer trainers and delivering information sessions. 

Requirements

Qualifications • A completed 1 year certificate in Education, Social Sciences, Business, Communications, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience in developing, implementing and evaluating workplace learning programs in an operational environment; OR • A completed 2 year diploma in the outlined above with at least 3 years relevant experience in outlined above; OR • A degree in the outlined above with at least 1 year of experience in in the outlined above. • A valid class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent) and ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit . • Previous experience using a learning management system, such as Sum Total, would be considered an asset. • Success in this position requires the ability to work independently, take initiative and solve problems. • Well developed critical thinking and communication skills will be important to help synthesize complex technical information. • A strong client service orientation and the ability to work effectively with a diverse client group is essential • Possess strong organizational and time management skills and have a demonstrated proficiency in effective digital file management

Union: CUPE Local 38 Position Type: 1 Temporary (up to 18 months) Compensation: Pay Grade 9 $40.18 – 53.76 per hour Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week Audience: Internal/External Business Unit: Water Services Location: 651M 25 Avenue SE Days of Work: This position works a 5 day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
