Description
This position requires a high level of skill and expertise in locating and marking various underground utilities for maintenance, repair, and capital projects. The role is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and construction work associated with water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems. Assignments will vary in complexity and detail, requiring you to exercise significant independent judgment throughout all phases of the job. The duties may involve hazardous working conditions, specialized skills, and limited supervisory responsibilities. Additionally, the work can be of an emergency nature and may require callouts and shift work.

Requirements

We are looking for a skilled candidate with some relevant experience. Preference will be given to individuals who have completed formal underground locating training through organizations such as the Construction Association or the Municipal Safety Authority. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the methods and techniques, as well as the materials, tools, and equipment used for locating and marking buried utilities. Additionally, the ability to comprehend the science behind location and the various methods of locating is essential. A valid full privilege Class 5 driver’s license (or out-of-province equivalent) is required. You must also be able to obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check for offenses relevant to this position.
