Description
The Parking Control Officer is responsible for the education and enforcement of the City’s parking bylaws and proactive patrols of City public spaces. Controlling vehicular parking by issuing tickets to parking violators or by ordering vehicles to be towed are key functions of the position. The incumbent works outdoors in all weather conditions and walks during shifts requiring sufficient physical stamina. Shift work is required.

Requirements

Qualifications include Grade 12 and a minimum of one year of experience working with the public requiring enforcement of rules and regulations. Formal Training in conflict resolution and customer service is also required. Familiarity with parking control, bylaw enforcement, court and adjudication processes and experience working in a regulatory field enforcing regulations and gaining compliance are considered assets. You possess excellent interpersonal skills to courteously interact with the public as well as the ability to work independently. As a condition of employment, this position is required to obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check for offences related to the position. A valid full privilege class 5 BC driver’s license is also required (or out of province equivalent).

Salary & Benefits

Enjoy a competitive wage of $34.10 - $34.84 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits. Term positions expected to last 6 months or longer are eligible for benefits.
