Saanich Commonwealth Place has an exciting career opportunity as a Facility Technician to perform technical work relating to the maintenance and operation of equipment at our world-class aquatic facility and community recreation centre.  The Facility Technician oversees the maintenance of swimming pool filtering plants, pool water chemical treatment, heating plants, pumps, motors and air handling systems, and provides guidance and instruction to Building Service Workers

Requirements

As a qualified candidate, you have: Grade 12 or equivalent; Pool Operators I and II Certifications; Fifth Class Boiler Endorsement Power Engineering Certificate; 3.5 years experience in physical plant maintenance, recreation/commercial buildings; WHIMIS certification valid within one year; sufficient health, physical conditioning, strength, stamina, and coordination to permit performance of work in all types of adverse conditions; and a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will be required to work varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays (37.5 hours per week)

Salary & Benefits

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $40.73 per hour and an excellent benefits package.
