We have a regular full-time opportunity for a GIS Analyst to work as part of our GIS team within the Digital Services and IT Department.  We are looking for a progressive individual with a diverse skill set who can make leading edge contributions to our Geographic Information System.  

 

What we can offer you:

We’re searching for a talented Analyst to join our GIS team. In this role, you’ll work with a multi-disciplinary team of IT and GIS professionals and District business users to maintain the District’s core spatial datasets, produce maps, and conduct data analysis.

 

In this complex technical and analytical role, you will:

• Utilize spatial information from our progressive and mature GIS on a regular basis,

• Be responsible for making maps and helping to maintain over 300 datasets and tables,

• Enter spatial information from engineering drawings and legal plans,

• Perform complex analysis and create new datasets, 

• Develop Esri based field applications for operations staff and work with the District’s development team to help maintain other custom geospatial web applications and systems integrations. 

 

What you’ll need to succeed: 

• Completion of an undergraduate degree program in a related discipline such as Geography or Computer Science, including courses in spatial information systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience,

• A minimum of 5 years experience working in an enterprise GIS environment,

• A positive and customer service oriented attitude, with the ability to collaborate within a team environment,

• An analytical and detail-oriented personality along with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to review a problem or challenge from multiple angles,

• A passion for standardization and data integrity,

• A thorough, in depth understanding of the Esri ArcGIS Enterprise platform and components including Field Maps, ArcGIS Server & Portal, and ArcGIS Pro,

• Knowledge of relational database design, concepts, and techniques, preferably in an ArcGIS Enterprise Geodatabase environment.

Requirements

It’s great if you have:

• Municipal GIS experience,

• Familiarity with application design and development, preferably related to web-based applications,

• Familiarity with reading or entering spatial information off engineering drawings and legal plans,

• Familiarity with orthoimagery and lidar processing, 

• Experience using FME or other data translation and manipulation tools,

• Experience working with Esri Insights or Power BI,

• Familiarity with Cityworks for work and asset management.

Salary:
The pay range for this unionized position is $42.45 to $50.13 per hour (2024 rates) 
Hours of Work: 35-hour work week (Compressed work schedule available)
