Position Overview
Are you interested in working for the City of Kamloops and keeping the ‘behind the scenes’ of our aquatic and civic facilities functioning? Our Recreation Facilities Attendant – Aquatics role performs facilities maintenance and janitorial work involving swimming pool operation; minor building maintenance; custodial and janitorial work; monitoring and adjusting pool chlorine content, pH, and water temperature; and directing and answering inquiries from the public. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Pool Operator Level I.
- Valid BC Driver's Licence - Class 5 or equivalent.
- Minimum three months’ previous pool testing/vacuuming and maintenance experience.
For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. This position will receive 14% in lieu of all benefits, vacation, stat holidays, and health time. This is a CUPE local 900 position.
