The Engineering Department is seeking up an enthusiastic Student Engineering Technician to work on a variety of projects within the Transportation and Development Services Division. Typical tasks of the position will be assisting with ongoing strategic projects within the Engineering Department including analysis or data gathering, field observations and briefs, preparation of base plans for design projects, concept development, basic engineering calculations and other varied tasks within engineering in general. The incumbent will require personal communication skills to respond to inquiries from the public and good research skills in the field of Engineering and Project Management to develop new tools, templates and standards.
Requirements include completion of one year of post-secondary education in an Engineering Program at a University or Technical Institution; enrolment in a full time post-secondary education program is mandatory; valid B.C. Driver’s Licence; physically fit to perform field duties; and one month work experience.
