The District of North Vancouver is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated Business Systems Analyst to join our Digital Services and Information Technology team to support our Cityworks implementation and the ongoing operation and sustainment of the Cityworks platform.  Cityworks integrates tightly with GIS and provides a comprehensive application for asset and infrastructure maintenance and work management.

What we can offer you:

We’re looking for a talented Analyst to join our Business Systems team to lead the District’s new Cityworks implementation and provide ongoing application support. In this exciting new role, you’ll work with a multi-disciplinary team of IT and GIS professionals and District business users to digitally transform the District’s parks, utilities, and streets core operations and work management processes.

In this complex technical and analytical role, you will:

• Act as technical lead on the implementation and ongoing sustainment and configuration of the District’s new Cityworks Online installation.

• Work in close collaboration with the District’s GIS team to ensure that database schema and data collection meet Cityworks requirements, and that core data standards and GIS system integrity are maintained.

• Work with the business to design and implement future state business processes, determine requirements for system configurations and enhancements, and provide advice and recommendations on system configuration and usage.

• Monitor data security, privacy, and integrity to ensure standards are maintained and risks are mitigated.

• In partnership with Digital Services and IT colleagues and the vendor, assist with the design and construction of data integrations between Cityworks and other enterprise applications.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical system issues.

• Keep abreast of changes to the application, including updated technical requirements, and ensure that upgrades are applied smoothly and with minimal service disruption.

• Assist in designing, documenting, and enforcing application related policies, procedures, and standards.

• Document data transformation processes, standards, and operational procedures.

• Define and document processes and procedures for system maintenance and ongoing support.

• Communicate upcoming system changes and enhancements to users and act as a technical resource on steering committees.

• Learn about the District’s other enterprise systems and applications to facilitate a holistic approach to decision making and configuration changes.

• Develop and deliver training materials, provide support during training sessions, and assist users with technical features.

Requirements

What you’ll need to succeed:

• A degree or diploma in geospatial or computer sciences or a relevant combination of education and experience.

• 5+ years of experience working with geospatial systems and data or a relevant combination of experience working with other municipal enterprise applications.

• A solid understanding of geospatial relational data structures, database platforms, and data modelling standards.

• An excellent and thorough understanding of the Esri ArcGIS Enterprise platform and components including Field Maps, ArcGIS Server & Portal.

• Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, take ownership over processes, and have a strong desire to understand the root cause of problems.

• Experience using SSIS, FME, or other data transformation tools.

• Possess the ability to consider the “big picture” when implementing solutions, including provision of technical support and long-term sustainability.

• An enthusiasm for tackling new and unfamiliar tasks and problems.

It’s great if you have:

• Experience in the configuration and management of Cityworks or other enterprise work management applications.
