Foothills County encompasses a diverse rural landscape covering 3,600 square kilometers located in the foothills of southern Alberta. We are currently seeking a Rural Conservation Advisor to join our team.
Reporting to the Manager of Agricultural Services, the Rural Conservation Advisor is responsible for developing agricultural and environmental monitoring, education, and extension programming for the residents of the County as well as administration of Agricultural Service Board policies.
To be successful in this position you will need:
- Agricultural or Environmental post-secondary education and/or Diploma from a related post-secondary program.
- Five (5) years’ experience working in an environmental or agricultural stream of employment.
- Pesticide Applicator Certification.
- Knowledgeable with the Agricultural Service Board Act, Weed Control Act, Alberta Pest Control Act and the Soil Conservation Act.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license.
