The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
• High-school Diploma with some post-secondary coursework in Recreation, Social Work, or a related discipline.
• Pool Operator Level 1 and 2 are considered an asset.
• National Lifeguard, Aquatic Instructor Award and Advanced Instructor Award certifications.
• Standard First Aid C with CPR.
• A minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of senior lifeguard and instructing experience with demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities in accordance with provincial regulations and through providing effective customer service skills and adherence to safety requirements.
• Experience working within aquatic operations and basic understanding of pool maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability of supervisory, leadership or mentoring of staff in a customer-serving role with effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with program coordination, implementation, and event planning experience.
• Possession of a valid class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Current clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening must be provided by the successful candidate prior to starting in the role.
The total rewards package for this position includes:
A starting annual salary of $56,100 to 63,000 based on a 35-hour work week and option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
