The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Asset Management and Maintenance Specialist. Under the direction of the Manager, Roads & Traffic Services, the incumbent develops and maintains asset management and maintenance plans for a variety of asset classes within the Roads and Traffic Section. The incumbent plans, prepares analysis and prepares summaries of program activities, and assists with tender preparation, inspections, contract administration, project cost control, and project management for assigned projects.

Requirements

Applicants must have a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized educational institution, as well as a minimum of 5 years’ related experience in civil engineering design, survey, planning, and construction, with emphasis on municipal engineering construction, including experience in asset management and overseeing contracts. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required. Applicants must have a membership in or be eligible for membership in the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC as an Applied Science Technologist.

Salary & Benefits

This is a CUPE bargaining unit position based on a 40-hour work week, and subject to Article 1(d) - Probationary Period as set out in the Union Collective Agreement. The hourly wage is $45.00 increasing to $47.37 after 60 working days (Jan 2025 Rates).
