Job Duties:
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair electrical systems and related electrical equipment
- Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings
- Pull wire though conduits and holes in walls and floors
- Position, maintain and install distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels and fuse enclosures
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical drawings and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts
- Test circuits to ensure integrity and safety
- Install and maintain fibre optic systems
- Maintain all electrical equipment related to the Aquatera water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and calibration of instrumentation equipment and related devices
- May be required to learn and understand facility SCADA system
- Assists in the preventive maintenance program and spare electrical parts inventory and control program
- Assists in developing and implementing of safe work procedures
- Perform all duties safely, demonstrating good housekeeping practices
- May be required to work overtime as needed
- May be required to work a on call rotating schedule
- May be required to supervise an apprentice and provide on-the-job training and work experience
- Occasional remote work may be required
- Other duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be a Certified Journeyman Electrician
- Experience in instrumentation preferred
- Experience in control systems an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Prior Water/Wastewater experience would be an asset
- Demonstrated commitment to Aquatera Principles and Valves
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Tactful, diplomatic, able to use good judgement
- An aptitude for math
- Physical strength and stamina
- The ability to distinguish colours to work with colour coded wiring
- The ability to work in high places
- The ability to keep up to date with changing technology
- The ability to do precision work
As conditions of employment the following will be required:
- Provision of a valid Canadian Driver’s license acceptable to the Employer
- Provision of a Driver’s Abstract satisfactory to the employer
- Successful completion of a pre-employment 50 lb. physical fitness test
- Completion of a comprehensive drug and alcohol test satisfactory to the employer
