Description
The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Equipment Operator, Asphalt. Under the general direction of the Supervisor, the incumbent carries out work in the operation, maintenance, and servicing of a variety of mobile, construction and maintenance equipment and related attachments pertaining to construction and maintenance of road right of ways, roads and laneways.

Requirements

Applicants must have completion of grade 12, and a minimum of one-year related experience with asphalt/paving equipment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Applicant must have a valid BC Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Endorsement.

Salary & Benefits

This is a CUPE bargaining unit position based on a 40-hour work week. The hourly wage is $36.77, increasing to $38.71 upon successful completion of probation (Jan 2024 Rates).
