As part of the Engineering and Regional Utilities Department, Water Planning Engineers are involved in various utility specific programs and projects, such as overseeing the development of master plans to accommodate community growth and development, supporting the implementation of asset management plans for existing critical infrastructure, preparing emergency response plans, and providing technical support to operations staff.
You are: A registered professional engineer or engineer-in-training (EIT) or have the ability to become a registered professional engineer or EIT in British Columbia. Applicants will possess strong written and oral communication skills, be well organized, be self-motivated, and work effectively as part of a team.
As the ideal candidate, you will have the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or other related discipline.
- Sound technical knowledge of drinking water supply principles and practice
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience in capital planning and budgeting
- Experience with management systems (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, HACCP)
- Membership or eligibility for immediate membership as a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer in Training (EIT) with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC)
- At least five (5) years of experience as a P. Eng. In consulting or municipal government.
