Position Overview
An exciting and challenging opportunity exists for a Permanent, Culture & Events Coordinator at the City of Kamloops! As a Culture & Events Coordinator, you will have the unique opportunity to enrich our community through dynamic arts and culture programs, and events. Your efforts will help create memorable experiences for individuals of all ages, fostering a vibrant community spirit. You’ll be part of a supportive team that values collaboration and creativity. Engage with various interest holders, including arts, culture, and heritage organizations, to ensure our programs reflect the diverse interests of the community.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Completion of a post-secondary degree in arts, event management, tourism or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum one-year previous experience (within the last three years) in the development, coordination and management of events.
- Minimum one-year previous experience (within the last three years) working with the arts and cultural community.
- Valid BC Driver's Licence - Class 5.
For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE local 900 position.

Hours & Days of Work
Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Summer)
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Winter)
