Description
The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced Supervisor–Public Works for the Waterworks Section.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in overseeing multiple operational crews and possess robust technical knowledge of waterworks systems, including distribution network management, pump station functionality, and SCADA systems. Responsibilities will include aiding the manager in implementing operational programs, addressing technical challenges, and handling safety and supervisory tasks to ensure the seamless day-to-day operations of this section.

Requirements

Requirements include: completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; a two year diploma in related field; minimum of five years progressive experience in a Waterworks related position with a federal, provincial or municipal Public Works Department, or private contractor doing directly related work with similar responsibilities; experience in project management including planning, budgeting, cost estimating and scheduling; minimum of one year supervisory experience in a related operational area; Level III EOCP Certification in Water Distribution; Cross Connection Control Certification; extensive experience and completion of courses / training related to the hydraulics, construction and operation of water distribution system maintenance & SCADA systema operation and maintenance; possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and sufficient health and physical conditioning to permit performance of duties in all types of weather conditions.  Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Salary & Benefits

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $49.41 with an excellent benefits package.
