Position overview
Resumes are being accepted for temporary position of IT Project Manager within the Information Technology department. Reporting to the Manager, Digital and Delivery, the successful candidate will have a technical background in IT and be an integral member of a team that manages projects from initiation to closure, continuously improves business processes and maintains and integrates sustainable IT solutions for the organization across various systems.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with internal clients, team members and external consultants to develop project charters, create and manage the project schedules, budgets and resources, and generate status reports and presentations.
- Perform business systems analysis, document, continuously improve and implement streamlined business processes to optimize corporate workflow.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the integration of business systems and corporate applications into organizational information systems.
- Research and analyze data in support of business functions, process improvement and systems requirements.
- Verify the interoperability of off-the-shelf applications with in-house developed systems.
- Provide input into system policies and overall application architecture and design.
- Administer systems with change management, revision maintenance, and security.
- Work in conjunction with other technical staff to isolate, troubleshoot, resolve problems and administer applications.
- Maintain technical familiarity with the infrastructure, data, tools, and applications.
- Manage the successful delivery of projects on time, to budget, and within quality and scope.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and requirements
- Considerable experience related to the duties listed above, normally acquired through the completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, business administration or a related discipline and
- Experience in IT project management within a medium to large sized corporate environment.
- Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Basecamp, or other tools.
- Experience leading IT projects from software implementations and upgrades to installation of new infrastructure.
- Experience with portfolio management software such as Clarity, Eclipse or MS Project exchange server.
- Extensive knowledge in one or more Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies: Water Fall model, Spiral model, Iterative and incremental development, agile development and/or Scrum.
- Experience developing project management documentation and templates such as Project Charter, Project Plan, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Advanced competency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, stakeholders and the general public.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Project Management Certification such as PMP, or PRINCEII is an asset.
Hours of work
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m and 4:30 p.m. This position is eligible for hybrid and flexible work arrangement options (as per current corporate policy).
Pay/Salary
Non-Union Grade 6: $$91,567.41- $114,459.27
