Description
Clearview Township is currently seeking a permanent full-time Operations Technologist.

Clearview Township is located in a region that has a long history as one of Ontario’s favorite tourist and vacation destinations, attracting over 2 million visitors annually. Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Operations Technologist is responsible for providing technical support to the Public Works Department to ensure the Township's infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards, while contributing to the safety and well-being of the community. This includes reviewing, analyzing, and making recommendations related to public works operations issues and concerns from the public, other agencies, and Council; performing technical assessments, fieldwork, and site inspections of infrastructure; reviewing and approving municipal consent applications and permit applications as required; preparing and maintaining detailed reports, plans, and specifications related to the asset management plan; and responding to public inquiries and providing technical information to residents and business owners regarding public works projects.


The successful candidate expected to possess the following skills: a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and infrastructure; ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications; proficiency in CAD software and GIS applications; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate is expected to attend public meetings to present project plans and updates, which may occur after regular business hours, and flexibility is required for emergency situations.

Requirements

Qualifications:
Recognized diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Municipal Engineering, or a related field, with 1 to 3 years of experience in a related position. A Certification or eligibility for Certification with OACETT (Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists) is considered an asset. In addition, a valid G driver’s license is required.

Note: The preferred candidate must be willing to provide consent for the Township to conduct a criminal background and vulnerable sector check prior to finalizing an employment offer.

 

Salary & Benefits

Salary:
Salary range offered for this position is $64,183 to $78,806 per year plus a competitive benefits package including OMERS Pension.
