G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre has exciting career opportunities available for two Building Service Workers to perform maintenance work in the general operation and service maintenance of ice arenas and other associated buildings and equipment in municipal recreation facilities. The Building Service Worker II - Arena performs various maintenance functions involving ice making and resurfacing, building equipment maintenance and repair, custodial and cleaning tasks.

This is shift work including nights, afternoons, and days (37.5 hours per week).

 

Requirements

Requirements include Grade 11 or equivalent; Refrigerator Operator certification (RO); over three months and up to six months related experience; WHMIS certification valid within 1 year; Occupational First Aid Level I required and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.  Employment is subject to provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than 6 months.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Salary & Benefits

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $34.41 per hour with an excellent benefits package. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
