About You / What We Are Looking For
 

The City of Coquitlam is currently seeking one Parks Infrastructure Asset Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, planning and coordinating capital projects relating to parks infrastructure asset replacement and repair. Furthermore, you will make recommendations on design and construction, while factoring in budget and time. You will also be responsible for ensuring that any inspections or project specifications made are meeting operational policies and procedures.

The Parks Infrastructure Asset Coordinator will further be responsible for supervising staff engaged in park asset maintenance including irrigation systems and trails, and overseeing the work of contractors. You will also have excellent relationship building skills, in order to maintain strong relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, as well as your team. If you enjoy working with and planning capital projects, as well as working with variety of people in a supervisory capacity, we look forward to your application!              

Minimum Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate will have completed a diploma in a discipline related to the work such as construction, building or engineering technology, or a related journeyman trades certification such as a Carpenter or Landscape. Preference may be given to candidates with a certificate in project management. You will also have at least 5 years of related experience in parks operations. Please note that an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. A Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.            

Please note that you may be required to work weekends.

This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $46.06 - $54.43. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.

Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in an earned day off program. This position is based in Coquitlam with some flexible, hybrid work options available. The City offers an attractive vacation and extended benefits package, including the ability to contribute to the Municipal Pension Plan.
