Description
The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Applications Support position. There are three levels (Junior Applications Analyst, Applications Analyst and Senior Applications Analyst) and the position filled will be based on the successful candidates’ qualifications. Under the direction of the Manager, IT Application Services or work group supervisor, these positions develop, design, implement, and support the City’s business applications. The incumbent may focus on one or more areas of specialization, participate as a member of the development team and act in a support capacity to senior staff members.

Requirements

Applicants must have a University degree in Computer Science, or directly related area of study and a minimum of 1 to 5 years’ experience. For the Applications Analyst and Senior Applications Analyst positions, preference will be given to candidates with the programming and/or application sustainment areas of specialization. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required.

Salary & Benefits

This is a unionized position, ranging $38.03 - $52.85 per hour (Jan 2024 Rate), based on a 35 hour work week.
