Description
The District of Saanich is seeking casuals Childminders at Saanich Commonwealth Place.  The successful candidates will be responsible for the supervision of children in the Childminding Service, ensure that participants are acting in accordance with the facility rules and that the facility and equipment are in safe, working condition. 

The ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills in providing accurate and enthusiastic feedback to patrons and maintaining an open and ongoing dialogue with the Recreation Programmer or Program Supervisor; excellent organizational skills with preparing the room and equipment and keeping accurate attendance records.

The successful candidates will work Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday from 8:45am to 11:30am, up to a maximum of 5 hours per week. These hours are subject to change based on program requirements.

Requirements

Requirements include completion of Grade 10; 3 months experience working with preschool age children and basic first aid certification.  Employment is subject to the provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than 6 months and Emergency First Aid and CPR-C.

Salary & Benefits

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $20.03 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
