In this role, you are responsible for the project management of infrastructure projects including client-focused projects requiring effective listening and consensus building with a wide variety of stakeholders. The projects are central to the adding to the vibe and culture of the City of Medicine Hat and your project leadership actively supports the City's strategic plan.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate

  • You are known for possessing project management skills and strong organizational skills with a proven ability to successfully carry out projects from conception to completion in an efficient, and orderly manner.
  • You are a leader who exercises judgement and makes effective decisions.
  • You establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other department teams, contractors and public stakeholders.
  • Has knowledge of Provincial and Federal legislation as well as industry standards relative to design and construction.
  • Will be responsible for coordinating municipal, provincial and federal approvals necessary for assigned projects and must have competitive bidding and contract principles and practices.

Qualifications

  • You have completed a two (2) year diploma in civil engineering technology or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • You have five years of project management experience in capital planning, design and construction.
  • Possess or you are eligible to obtain your certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • You possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's license and are able to work in a safety sensitive position.
  • This position has been identified as Safety Sensitive and requires the completion of a satisfactory pre-employment drug screen
