Description
  • Provide GIS support, including data management, spatial analysis, and visualizations in various GIS and data management software.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the GIS, custom software tools, automation routines, processes, procedures, and data collection to improve staff access to data; including analysis, quality control of information, and reducing duplication of data. Ensure the timely implementation of GIS-related projects in collaboration with IT and other relevant departments.
  • Work with IT to oversee all enterprise GIS operations, including database management and administration, data structure and metadata development, system administration, and user support, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and protocols.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements or modifications to the GIS system, database models, and develop custom software, routines, and applications to provide increased access to data for users, ensuring compliance with IT policies and guidelines.
  • Create and maintain integration with other corporate systems as required to facilitate mapping and spatial analysis. Support the implementation of computerized work management software (Assetworks) in coordination with the IT department.
  • Gather, create, and compile data for integration into the GIS and maintain regular upgrades to the system, following established IT procedures.
  • Organize and implement datasets for specific projects based on departmental needs.
  • Perform spatial and attribute data processing; data capture, cleaning, transformation, data analysis, reporting, and mapping.
  • Implement and maintain standard procedures and guidelines related to GIS workflow, data updates, and mapping, adhering to IT security and compliance standards.
  • Manage the acquisition and distribution of digital data and mapping for internal and external customers, ensuring data integrity and security in consultation with IT.
  • Assist in developing and updating Asset Management Plans and Asset Risk Reporting.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, registered plans, and legal descriptions for GIS database development efforts.
  • Maintain hardcopy and digital files for the organization, ensuring secure and organized data management practices.
Requirements
  • Degree in Geographical Information Systems or a related discipline with emphasis on, and specific coursework in GIS.
  • 3 - 5 years experience, or a related diploma with emphasis on, and specific course work in GIS.
  • Demonstrated abilities in the use of ESRI GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise)
  • Working knowledge of mobile applications and ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Enterprise web applications
  • Proficient in standard and custom coordinate systems, transformations, and datums (vertical/horizontal)
  • Advanced knowledge of Web APIs, HTTPS, REST, SQL and Python, experience with vector, imagery, and LiDAR data.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Map, Mapguide, AutoCAD Map 3D and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, would be considered an asset
  • Firm understanding of Information Services Corporation (ISC) Saskatchewan Land Titles.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s License and an RCMP security clearance.
Salary & Benefits

$66,651 ($34.18/hr) and includes a comprehensive Benefit and Pension plans.
