 Purpose of the position

The position will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Performing skilled mechanical work in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive fleet vehicles, fire apparatus, tractors, mowers, and small stationary equipment.
  • Developing and mentoring apprentices and ensuring the continued personal growth is maintained by all staff within the department.
  • Provide support whenever required to facilitate the needs of the County.

  • Have experience maintaining and repairing a wide range of automotive, and heavy-duty equipment.
  • Be experienced in operating a variety of different types of electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Be well-developed in public relations skills.

 

 

Requirements

 Qualifications:   

  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent. 
  • Experience in operating, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, equipment, tractors, mowers, fire apparatus.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License. Subject to provide Driver’s Abstract that meets the satisfaction of the County.
  • WHMIS/TDG certification.
  • Must be bondable and able to perform CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program).
  • Good communication skills and teamwork skills.
Salary & Benefits

Salary Range:  Up to $100,900.80 per year depending on qualifications and experience
