About the Role:

Are you passionate about providing exceptional customer service and enjoy working in a dynamic, community-focused environment? The City of Medicine Hat is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Customer Service Representatives for our Parks and Recreation facilities, including the Big Marble Go Centre, Crestwood Pool, Gas City Campground, and Outdoor pools. This unionized position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on our community members.

What You'll Do:

  • Providing high-quality service to patrons and pass holders, addressing inquiries and concerns.
  • Managing facility access to ensure security and safety.
  • Handling Point of Sale transactions and performing daily cash reconciliations.
  • Processing facility bookings, memberships, and program registrations.
  • Conducting product sales and maintaining inventory.
  • Keeping accurate records of patron attendance and revenues.
  • Performing routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure a safe environment.
  • Promoting a positive image of our organization through professional communication.
  • Recommending improvements to enhance our services.
  • Assisting with emergency procedures as needed.

  • Experience in front-facing roles and administrative tasks.
  • Proficiency in cash handling and Point of Sale operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with inventory maintenance and office software.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent high school diploma.
  • At least three (3) months of experience in customer service, including Point of Sale operations.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • A combination of relevant training and education may be considered.
