As the Capital Grant Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating, identifying, exploring, applying for, monitoring, and reporting grant and investment opportunities for specific capital asset types. Your focus will be to bolster capital project delivery by leveraging grants, financing, and partnerships with external parties. You will also collaborate with capital service lines, aiding them through the entire process from application to successful delivery. Primary duties include:

  • Seek and respond to grants, financing, and collaboration opportunities across specific capital asset categories (i.e., facilities, transportation, public spaces, utilities).
  • Coordinate the delivery of grants and contribution funds for specific projects, from application stage through to reporting and project close out stages.
  • Monitor, track, analyze, and report on grant and investment opportunity progression, including assessing success rates and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Research potential undeveloped opportunities and explore new investment options.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and funding agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts requiring input for application submissions.
  • Provide timely information to funders on programs that have strict application or reporting deadlines.
Requirements
  • A completed 2-year diploma and at least 5 years of progressive experience in applied science, engineering, financial, project control, policy, marketing, law or related; OR
  • A degree and at least 3 years of progressive experience in applied science, engineering, financial, project control, policy, marketing, law or related.
  • A general understanding of engineering consulting phases and construction processes is required.
  • Access to a personal vehicle for occasional business use is required.
  • Experience in the following areas will be considered an asset:
    • Capital asset prioritization and investments.
    • Working within a project and/or grant management cycle, from design and selection to contract, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Success in this position requires effective communication, executive writing skills, adherence to tight timelines, adaptability to changing priorities, demonstrated collaboration, strong organizational and self-motivational skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Working Conditions: Office environment with occasional site visits.

Union: CUPE Local 38
Position Type: 4 Temporary (up to 18 months)
Compensation: Pay Grade 10 $40.08 – 53.57 per hour
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week

Location: 800 Macleod Trail SE
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day work
week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
