Requirements include: Grade 12 or equivalent; one accredited course related to the work common to the Parks Division from a recognized post-secondary institution; six months recent previous experience in the works of a Parks Division; B.C. Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate; valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence and a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check (PIC-VS). Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Applicants must have a B.C. Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate for this position, in either the Landscape category or the Industrial Vegetation and Noxious Weed category.
The successful candidates will work varying shifts Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. depending on operational needs.
As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted.
These are C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of $32.79 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits (equivalent to $37.70 per hour).
