Description
Under the general supervision of the Arena & Parks Supervisor or designate, a Seasonal Labourer performs a variety of operational and preventative maintenance tasks such as grounds care and related duties in City parks and greenspaces and other recreational facilities.  The successful candidate must also be able to operate equipment such as weed whips, lawn mowers and other equipment as required.

  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License or equivalent.
  • Completion of Grade 12 or a combination of equivalent and relevant experience.

 

Prior work experience in a similarly physically demanding position involving ornamental landscaping, turf management, and operation of industrial turf maintenance equipment, or demonstrated transferable skills from previous employment will be considered assets. Also, preference will be given to applicants with certification in, and/or experience with, pesticide application, landscaping, tree risk assessment, irrigation or horticulture.
