Working closely with the IT GIS team, you will have the opportunity to support important municipal initiatives and learn important and practical GIS skills. Initiative examples include Field Maps capture of Park asset inventory, compilation of Bicycle Routes, and improving Address spatial accuracy in GIS. This work requires a solid foundation in GIS theory and ArcGIS desktop tools (ArcGIS Pro), strong problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail. Requirements include: One year of post-secondary education; enrolment in a full time post-secondary education program is mandatory; preference will be given to those enrolled in a Geography or Geomatics program at a University or Technical Institute; knowledge of GIS theory, principles and methods; experience using Esri GIS software; and one month work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the office with occasional work outside.
As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted.
