Strathcona County is looking for a dynamic and motivated professional to join our team as an IT Business Relationship Manager (Manager of Business and Stakeholder Engagement) 

This position will be accountable for providing high quality customer service to all County staff and ensuring that the Information Technology Services (ITS) department is positioned as a trusted business partner for all County departments.

The Manager of the Business and Stakeholder Engagement Branch is responsible for providing leadership and guidance in the development and execution of the County’s technology roadmap. This includes working closely with other areas of ITS and all departments to ensure that current and future services continue to meet their needs. 

This position will manage the IT investment governance process for the County to ensure all departments are aware of the total scope of IT services, upcoming initiatives and business cases, and impact of shifting priorities County wide.

This position fosters creativity and drives innovation within their branch with the aim of continuously improving process efficiency within the scope of the ITS department to reduce business effort and cost for IT services and solutions. 

This role may be eligible to participate in our hybrid work program.  The successful candidate will be required to reside within 2 hours of Sherwood Park, Alberta. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and empower the branch through the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans. Provide visionary guidance and hands-on support for IT projects, ensuring their successful execution and alignment with organizational goals
  • Lead the management of customer relationships between the ITS department and all other County departments. Ensure department needs are addressed, and escalations are handled to a high degree of satisfaction
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains through technology solutions, and collaborate with business leaders to understand their needs and translate them into IT requirements
  • Establish and administer the County wide IT investment governance processes and procedures to ensure all department ideas and requests are accounted for, understood, and have agreed upon priority across the County
  • Manage the cross-branch processes for work planning and prioritization for the ITS department ensuring all branches are in alignment, and provide guidance and support to project teams, ensuring successful delivery of IT solutions on time and within budget
  • Responsible for integrating financial factors into IT decision-making processes, encompassing budget allocation, project costing, and financial reporting accountability
Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information technology or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years direct related and progressive experience in the IT profession in a large corporation or government organization
  • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity specifically focused on project management supervision. Showcase a track record of adeptly managing projects, displaying robust managerial capabilities, and effectively leading cross-functional teams to successful project completion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and experience with organizational change management
  • Experience working in a public sector organization is preferred
  • Extensive direct related experience in business relationship management, customer service, and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in working in a complex multi-stakeholder environment
  • Experience with Information technology Infrastructure library (ITIL) and Control Objectives for Information and related Technologies (COBIT), service ownership, and product delivery
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is desirable
Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $120,684.20 - $150,859.80
