Reporting to the Executive Director, this leadership role is responsible for establishing a more robust profile across the municipal IT industry by developing best practices, guidelines and tools to assist Ontario municipalities. This individual provides expertise, with guidance from the Board, to assist with creating new member benefits and programming. Working remotely from their home office, this individual is a motivated self-starter who can manage multiple projects and deliver against deadlines and has strong writing, research, relationship building, and presentation skills.
Responsibilities include:
Content Creation
Outcome: Create, develop, and collate municipal IT best practices.
Leadership
Outcome: Establish MISA Ontario as the coordination hub for emerging municipal information, technology and modernization issues.
Community Engagement
Outcome: Enhance and expand the vibrant and active MISA Ontario community.
Program Development
Outcome: Increase municipal resiliency and modernization through new, enhanced programming and resources.
Advocacy
Outcome: Establish MISA Ontario as the advocate for municipal modernization.
Outputs:
- Briefings – expert analysis, case studies and opinions focusing on the latest and most topical issues affecting municipal IT
- Reports – easily digestible reports and guides that provide clear and concise information and practical guidance
- Website Repository – through coordination with MISA Ontario’s Community Manager, establish a relevant section in the members’ area of the website.
Activities:
- Maintain an understanding of and anticipate emerging municipal information, technology and modernization issues through:
- Membership engagement
- Participation in public sector committees, working groups, etc.
- Private sector engagement
- Other external resources
- Author, develop, and commission Briefings and Reports.
- Develop and deliver concise, relevant, accurate and compelling communications.
- Cultivate insights into a framework or methodology and build supporting tools and resources to publish on our website for use by MISA Ontario members.
- Keep a pulse on what’s happening in the industry around your areas of expertise, including upcoming trends and best practices, in part to assist in your contribution of ideas to the research agenda
- Create professional reports, tools and presentations
