The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager Recreation and Culture, the Project Manager, Community Recreation, is responsible for Community Recreation – project management and coordination, policy development support, coordination of agreement portfolio, and pursuing funding opportunities. This role ensures collaboration with various teams comprised of both internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects and strategies that will improve the overall Community Recreation portfolio in the Town of Caledon.

As the Project Manager, Community Recreation, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:

  • Provide a combination of project management and coordination of projects that impact Community Recreation and the delivery of services.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in alignment with PMO best practices and industry standard frameworks
  • Facilitate implementation of the 2024 Parks and Recreation Strategy, including developed action plans, connecting staff work plans to deliverables, tracking work performance and milestones, status, and risk reporting.
  • Ongoing review of Community Recreation analytics identifying trends and opportunities; reporting on analytics in relation to division targets.
  • Coordinate agreements process including new request intake review, monitoring internal and external workflows, and inventory of executed agreements.
Requirements

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with a post-secondary degree/diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Sport Management, Event Management, Public Administration, or related field. Our ideal candidate has Minimum 3-year related experience in community development, special projects, and stakeholder management. Certifications in quality assurance (Six Sigma), project management, change management, strategic planning, legal awareness, municipal administrative would be considered an asset.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to ensure suitable agreements, decisions are reached. We are seeking an individual with the ability to exercise significant discretion and sensitivity involving regular access to confidential data.

The successful candidate for Project Manager, Community Recreation will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office and after hours (as required).

Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.

Salary & Benefits

This position offers a salary range of $84,976.40 - $104,139.95 plus a competitive benefit package.
