Description
The City of Pitt Meadows is recruiting an Arts and Culture Assistant to support various services and events hosted for our residents. This position works with community groups, organizations, and artists to plan and implement activities. Working with a superior, they will also transport equipment, assist in set-up and take-down, maintain inventories, and organize rentals to ensure goods and services are provided. This position is also responsible for recruiting, training and directing volunteers.

Applicants must be willing to work weekends, with open flexibility to work a variety of shifts Monday to Sunday, 5:45am – 10:15pm based on operational needs.

Requirements
  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma in arts or cultural services, recreation or related discipline plus sound related experience or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
  • Experience in event planning, programming, preparation, and implementation.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Attention to detail and customer service skills.
  • St. Johns First Aid or equivalent desirable but not required.
  • Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia.
Salary & Benefits
  • CUPE Pay Grade 15, Step 1 - $26.22/hr (2021 rates) plus 10% in lieu.
