Position Summary:
Reporting to the Supervisor By-law Services, the Student Municipal Law Enforcement Officer position will provide assistance in the administration and enforcement of municipal regulatory by-laws such as, but not limited to, the parking by-law, sign and advertising by-law and licensing by-law within the Town of The Blue Mountains. The position will be expected to respond to inquiries and complaints and provide superior customer service as required. Main duties and responsibilities are in the areas of Parking and By-Law Enforcement.
Contract: May 13 to Sept 2, 2024
- Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Police Foundations, Law & Security, Criminology, Law Enforcement or a related field.
- Must be capable of performing the physical requirements of the position.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications; knowledge of parking ticket software application would be an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, public relations and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy by working independently and as part of an enforcement team.
- General understanding and appreciation of downtown and local attractions.
- Valid Class “G” driver’s license in good standing.
- Possess a Criminal Record Check with results satisfactory to the Town.
