Solid Waste Services is seeking multiple temporary labourers to perform manual work requiring considerable physical effort and agility in the performance of the Leaf Collection Program.

Requirements include: Grade 10 or equivalent; valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence; annual renewal of Driver’s Abstract; valid Traffic Control Certificate and one month of previous experience and on-the-job training. Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must possess sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit performance of heavy manual work in all types of weather. Preference will be given to those candidates with experience/skill/certification and ability to operate Public Works related tools and equipment, working in roads maintenance and construction experience.
The successful candidates will work Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (October 23, 2023 to January 12, 2024).
These are C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of $30.98 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
