The Opportunity

The Operational Support Team for Grande Prairie Enforcement Services (GPES) is seeking a high-energy, well-organized individual capable of multi-tasking, whose challenge will be to maintain excellence in customer service and provide operational administrative support for the department's many programs. 

Attention to detail, speed and accuracy are essential to be successful in this role.

This position reports to the Operational Support Supervisor of GPES. 

 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for a variety of clerical duties including:

  • Data entry;
  • Customer care and support over the phone, via email and in person;
  • Dispatching enforcement officers;
  • Conducting computer record checks for an assortment of tasks;
  • Vehicle-for-Hire licensing, permits, and coordinating inspections;
  • Preparation of court packages for officers;
  • Processing violation tickets - accepting payment and court-related processes;
  • Animal licensing - processing new applications and monthly renewals;
  • Initiating impact assessments for Livestock and Animal Limit Exemptions;
  • Department cash-out, deposits, invoice reconciliation, and payments;
  • Department time-card review and approval;
  • Preparing official GPES correspondence as required; and
  • Liaise between City departments to facilitate Enforcement actions as required. 
Requirements

You Bring

The following are the prerequisites for this position:

  • The successful candidate will possess an Office Administration Certificate from a recognized college and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in an office environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
  • The successful candidate will have an understanding of excellence in customer service, being able to utilize both tact and good judgment to de-escalate situations that are stressful for the client to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • You must be able to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with computer data entry and information retrieval and modern office procedures and equipment.
  • You must possess the ability to prioritize and organize work assignments based on volume and deadlines.
  • You must possess the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information using tact, diplomacy and mature judgment in all communications; including during stressful situations in person, in writing and over the phone.  
  • Attention to detail is critical for all aspects of this position.
  • You must possess analytical abilities.
  • The successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.  Preference may be given to individuals who currently possess an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance. 

 

Hours

The average hours per week for this position are 37.5, and your specific schedule will be determined by the immediate supervisor. 

 

Compensation

Band  C 

Hourly wage starting at $28.72 

Per annum starting wage $56,004.00
