The City of Markham is seeking an Organizational Development and Learning Specialist, Training Delivery to fill a regular full time vacancy within the People Services Department. JOB SUMMARY
The Organizational Development and Learning Specialist, Training Delivery has a primary focus on the development and design of multi-modal learning solutions for the organization with a focus on training delivery of internal and external learning solutions.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Successful delivery of on time, full scope, and on-budget multi-modal learning solutions
- Successful facilitation and delivery of leadership and employee training as needed
- Provide end-to-end learning life cycle execution for e-learning and in-person learning solutions
- Develop and refine existing learning programs including the mandatory learning and select-in programming
- Work where appropriate in partnership with People Services colleagues to optimize learning design and delivery
- Keep current in best practices in the learning and development field through review and analysis of research and the monitoring of trends and best practices
- Identify outsourcing relationships, develop and manage vendor relationships, and secure and select vendors through the organization’s procurement processes
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in adult education and/or instructional design or 5 plus years’ experience in a dedicated corporate training role
- A minimum of two years of experience in a management role leading people is preferred
- Formal experience delivering leadership development training to execute a competency framework to different levels of organizational leadership at scale
- Demonstrated strong facilitation and training delivery to employees at all levels with specific experience in leadership development including emerging leaders
- Experience delivering within the project management triple constraint approach and in a fast paced environment characterized by evolving priorities, consultation and strong results orientation
- Demonstrated experience managing and partnering with relevant vendors
- Strong ability to work supportively with immediate leadership with a process/program improvement orientation
- Strong team and partnership orientation where able to work productively and effectively in a consultative and collaborative environment
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to work with strong organization, coherency, consistency, and handle sensitive issues with diplomacy and confidentiality
- Strong organizational awareness skills and business acumen
- Experience using a problem solving approach including research, analysis, options development and recommendations
