Job Summary
Reporting to the Community Program Coordinator, the Community Program Supervisor will work as part of an area team that is responsible for delivery of all recreation programs and services in a defined community. The Community Program Supervisor will be assigned a program portfolio for services that include general programs, summer and holiday camps, ice skating, drop ins and sport leagues for the following age groups: preschool, children, youth, adults, and seniors. This could include administration of programs, drop in programs, and open access opportunities while ensuring staff are well supervised, trained and well managed.
This position will assist in leading the quality assurance program within the district including implementation of High 5 standards. This position will also be an integral member of the functional team. The Community Program Supervisor will mentor, support, motivate and provide guidance on performance management of all program staff and volunteers within area while maintaining positive relationships with fellow area staff, residents, community groups and clients. This role will be a front line resource in community development and engagement including assisting in leading initiatives like Healthy Schools.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist in providing administration and supervision for program services within a defined program portfolio within a given community.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, payroll and managing performance of part-time staff.
- Assist with development and ongoing monitoring of operating budgets including identification of capital budget needs.
- Plan and implement recreation programs, camps, and services.
- Ensure an environment of customer service excellence exists when dealing with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular customer satisfaction surveys.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of promotional materials.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Post-secondary education (College diploma or University degree) in recreation or appropriate discipline.
- Minimum three years full-time supervisory experience in a recreation setting, experience in varied recreation program areas is an asset including general programs, summer and holiday camps, ice skating, drop ins, and sport leagues.
- Current certifications in Standard First Aid and CPR.
- Proficiency in MS office, experience with CLASS an asset.

Salary Range:$75,167.00 To 85,358.00 Annually
