Description
The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Lifeguard/Instructor. Under the general supervision of the Manager, Aquatics, Aquatic Coordinator, or Aquatic Supervisor, the incumbent performs lifeguard and aquatic instructional program procedures as per facility policy. Responsible for the supervision and control of activities, safety standards, and cleanliness of aquatic facilities. Exercises mature judgment in carrying out instructional skills and general lifeguarding duties.
Requirements
Applicants must have completed Grade 10 and have the following qualifications:
Lifesaving Swim Instructor Certification
C.P.R. “C” Certification
National Lifeguard Certification – Pool Option
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
Experience teaching aquafit classes is considered an asset.
Salary & Benefits
This is a unionized position. $24.03 per hour - after Probation (Jan 2023 Rate).
Set hours as determined which may be rotated through the full-time team. Hours of work will be 40 hours per week including evening and weekend shifts. A comprehensive benefit package is included.
